Get-In the Dance Team

Beginning this year, dancers will have the opportunity to participate in "Byrd's Dance Team."

Dance Team is primarily a blending of former Troupe & Company dancers.  Rather than dancers being placed into a particular group as in part years, dancers will be placed or "cast" into the routines that will be competed.

Dance Team is strictly for dancers who want to participate in dance competitions.

Dance Team members must be enrolled in a technique, jazz, and ballet class (if a ballet class is available for their age group).  Tap and hip hop classes are also available and are strongly recommended for all, helping students become more well rounded dancers.

Younger dancers will have the option to enroll in a combination class (tap, ballet, jazz) or they may choose to enroll in the individual subject classes.

Dance Team performance classes will be held on Saturdays.  Dance Team members will be evaluated, and once placed into a routine, will be given a practice schedule for their Saturday class time.

Dancers placed in a tap or hip hop routine for competition must be enrolled in a tap or hip hop class.

Charges will be $150 per competition routine.  This will cover the cost of ONE costume, any tights, embellishments, or necessary alterations, and the entry fees for TWO dance competitions.

Dance Team members will be required to purchase a team jacket to wear to competitions and performances.
