What is Tumble Team?
Tumble team is an extra class that meets one time per week, focusing mainly improving floor skills, and participating in local tumbling competitions.
The class structure does not include working on the gymnastics equipment, however, sometimes students do so in order to improve a particular skill or for strengthening or conditioning purposes.
Students learn a routine consisting of tumbling skills appropriate to their ability level.
Students must meet a certain ability level and must be approved by the Tumble Team coach.
Regional competitions are held with participants from all over the greater Kansas City area. The meets are hosted by NAC (National Acrobatic Competition) and were held last year at the Lenexa Christian Church Community Gymnasium.
Students compete in their own age group with all students in their group executing the same routine. Students are judged, scored, and win ribbons and/or trophies for the placement awarded by the judges. Awards are given for first place through honorable mention.
Students participate in two or three Regional tumbling competitions per year, with a Championship Meet held at the end of the season. Entry fees are approximately $25 per competition.
Tumble Team students must purchase a team leotard and warm-up jacket that is worn atall tumbling competitions.
The total estimated cost for the Tumble Team season is approximately $175.00. This includes the leotard ($50), a jacket ($50) and three entry fees ($75). Payments are made as follows:
$75.00 on September 20
$50.00 on November 20
$50.00 on January 20
A $10 late fee will be applied for payments not received by due dates.
This is a positive/low-stress introduction to competition. Students are encouraged to achieve their own “personal best”, give 100% of their effort and have fun while doing so! We look forward to helping your child set and reach goals in their gymnastic training.

Byrd’s Competitive Gymnastic Team
Byrd's Competitive Gymnastic Team is a selected group of gymnasts that compete at local gymnastic competitions, sanctioned by the USA Gymnastics Federation. In order to compete, gymnasts must become a member of the USA Gymnastics Federation which costs approximately $50. Competitive gymnasts spend anywhere from six to nine hours per week in the gym, depending upon their skills level. Our studio offers competitive programs for gymnasts that compete at levels 4 through level 6.
The class structure includes work on all gymnastic events (floor, balance beam, uneven bars, vault), along with stretching and conditioning. Students learn a routine or skill on each event and perform these skills in all events at the competitions. The gymnasts are judged by professional and qualified judges on different elements for each event.
Regional competitions are held with participatns from all over the greater Kansas City area. The meets are hosted by larger gyms throughout the area.
Students compete in their own age group with all sutdents in their group executing the same routine, skill, or element. Students are judged, scored, and win ribbons and/or trophies for the placement awarded by the judges.
Gymnastic Team members must purchase a team leotard and warm-up that is worn at all competitions.
Competition entry fees normally range from $55-$75 per compeititon. We attend approximately four compeittions throughout the year, in addition to the State Championship Meet for those that qualify.
A beginning level 4 gymnast would train about six hours per week (two nights per week for three hours each night). One of these six hours can include their regular one hour dance class.
Students are encouraged to achieve their own "personal best", give 100% of their effort, and have fun while doing so!

Becoming a member of a competitive gymnastic team requires a strong commitment of both the gymnast and the parent. The physical and mental benefits of being part of a program such as this will be carried with your child throughout their life!
Students gain not only the skill of learning gymnastics, but they will also further develop and enhance their level of discipline, their ability to focus, and their self-esteem! Please thoughtfully consider all aspects of whether this type of program would benefit your child at this particular time.
